Abbeyglen Castle Hotel

Abbeyglen Castle Hotel is a four star manor house hotel just outside Clifden in Connemara, County Galway, built in 1832 by John d'Arcy, the founder of Clifden. It stands about 1km from the village with views overlooking Clifden Bay.

Run by the Hughes family since 1969, Abbeyglen is known for award winning cuisine, a wellness and relaxation centre, and the lively Castle Bar. A long standing house tradition is the evening reception in the lounge, where guests are welcomed with a glass of bubbles and a talk on the castle's history.
