Parkfield House is a 3-Star Fáilte Ireland approved bed and breakfast and is within easy walking distance of the centre of Killarney. The train and bus station are also just a few hundred metres away, making it very convenient for those arriving to or departing from the town.
There are a total of seven bedrooms in Parkfield House. These include twin, double, triple and large family rooms, all of which have an en-suite with a power-shower. Each room has a television with a choice of Irish stations. Alternatively, a full selection of satellite stations are available downstairs in the TV Lounge. The bedrooms are all named after popular local landmarks, many of which are in Killarney National Park and can be viewed from their windows. These include Mangerton and Torc Mountains, which the Kerry Way threads between as it sets off from Killarney.
Before beginning the trail, Kerry Way Walkers can source last-minute supplies in Aldi or the neighbouring 24-Hour Tesco. Both of these are a short walk from Parkfield House. More specialist hiking gear can be bought in Kerry Outdoors Sports, which is just down the road in the Killarney Outlet Centre.
Walkers looking to spend some extra time in Killarney, can talk to Pauline, the host of Parkfield House. She has a good knowledge of walks around the greater Killarney area.
