Our Guest House Bed and Breakfast is ideally situated. Set in mature grounds off the main N5 Westport bypass.The Main House is a Classical Georgian Style built in 1775, retaining many of its original features, furnishings and décor.The Coach House to the rear of the main house provides guests with a wonderful open plan contemporary setting and original stone walls. The Coach House rooms are all ensuite with Superking Beds, Power Showers, Free WiFi and Flat Screen TVs.

Longford has many interesting and relaxing leisure activities including Fishing and Boating on the River Shannon and the numerous inland waterways. Strokestown House now offers day trippers guided tours of its wonderful House, Famine Museum and Gardens situated only a short distance from our Guest House. The Corlea Trackway in Kenagh Co Longford is one of the finest examples of Iron Age Trackway in Europe built around 147BCE. The Royal Canal is now open to boats and may be navigated into Clondra from Dublin. This is its last lock where you meet the River Shannon, from here it is possible to navigate the River Shannon to the north or south. Cycling and walking enthusiasts may traverse the length of canal which runs from Longford to Clondra approx 14k most suitable for persons who prefer a level gradient to walk or exercise.
