Castletown House Guest House is a beautifully restored early 18th century family home situated on a working farm, within easy walking distance of the picturesque village of Donaghmore – setting for the film ‘All Things Bright And Beautiful’ which included such stars as Gabriel Byrne, Tom Wilkinson, Gabrielle Reidy , Ciaran Fitzgerald and Kevin McNally. Donaghmore also boasts a Famine Workhouse and Agricultural Museum taking one back into a bleak and hungry era.

Castletown House is Bord Failte Approved and has won no less than three Major Agri-tourism Awards and is also recommended by Brittany ferries, Dillard & Causin, Frommer’s and Bed and Breakfast Treasures. It is a family run business and is set on a beef, suckler cow farm.

Castletown House offers a peaceful haven in the countryside, all rooms are ensuite with colour T.V. and hairdryers.

The house was built in 1714 and has been completely modernised without losing its original character. It is tastefully furnished in keeping with this era. There is ample car parking space, and a garden for visitors use.
