Westport is a 17th century planned town, home to the Great Western Greenway and midway on the Wild Atlantic Drive. It was nominated as Irelands best kept town and the nicest place to live in Ireland in 2012. It was also Irelands tidiest town in 2001, 2006 & 2008.
