The Breesy Centre is located in the rural, tranquil village of Cashelard, 3 miles north of Ballyshannon in South Donegal. The Centre is a community run organisation with a strong commitment to local development and protecting the environment we operate in. Surrounded by lakes, blue flag beaches, hills, mountains and rivers, in an area steeped in heritage and culture, the Breesy Centre is the ideal location for school groups, walking clubs, sports teams, college societies and all groups that want a safe, secure environment in which to pursue outdoor activities. We can sleep up to 50 in a range of accommodation from our apartment, twin rooms or spacious ensuite dorms. With our wild and unexplored scenery, delicious local food, adventure sports trainers and wellbeing experts, the Breesy Centre is the perfect venue to help you rejuvenate and reinvigorate.

The Breesy Centre, Cashelard, three miles outside Ballyshannon, is a fine example of what can be achieved by a rural community working in harmony with a clear view of its objectives.

In 1994 the first step was taken to reverse this trend when a meeting was held to ascertain if the now dilapidated community hall could be restored. A committee was appointed and they set about visioning how the area might become vibrant again. Surveys were carried out to ascertain what the community wishes were, and a learning process was entered into which was to establish how funding could be sourced to meet those wishes. A plan was drawn up and the first requirement was the provision of a community resource centre.
